Strathmore Road Community Hub

Monday mornings at SRMC

After 3 years of working together our partnership with The Pickle Palace is coming to an end.

The Pickle Palace feel that two rescued food markets are unsustainable given the reduced amount of waste food available so they will be focussing their efforts on their Thursday market at Greenside.

SRMC is proud to have worked with Pickle Palace and we have built up a valuable range of community actives around the food market and want as many of those as possible to continue under the new name of the SRMC Community Hub.

Although the amount of food waste is decreasing we feel it is important to try and rescue as much food as we can. This will help families struggling with the cost of living as well as benefiting the environment.

The first SRMC Hub market was on Monday 5th August.

The rescued food market will open at 10.30am.

The ‘Pay as You Feel Cafe’ will continue as normal from 9am until 12.30pm

The Citizens advice drop in will continue from 9am with appointments only from 12.00 mid day.

We will remain as a Gateshead Council Warm Space too.

The church also operates as a household support centre which can help families in urgent need of short term help and advice.

All activities are open to everyone in the community.
